Yeah, as an Arizonan it feels kind of weird that he’s gone. Being out in the desert, we don’t have very many figures like him representing our state on a national level (in any regard, not just politics ). Guy was elected to be my Senator when I was a month old. He inspired a good friend of mine in high school, who was a Democrat, to join the Air Force and get into politics.

His funeral is going to be right near my house , so Thursday should be interesting.
